" Mycroft Holmes: I worry about him. Constantly.
John Watson: That’s nice of you.
Mycroft: But I would prefer for various reasons that my concern go unmentioned. We have what you might call a difficult relationship.

Personnality[edit]

Compared to his more savage and excentric younger brother, Mycroft had a far more sophisticated and calm attitude, rarely losing his temper or raising the voice. He however did it to several occasions, like when he he shouted at Mrs. Hudson, causing a unanimous reaction against him, and especially when he was angry at Sherlock and John for tricking him in make him believe his sister Eurus attacked him in his house. Despite this, Mycroft was no less arrogant than Sherlock, but more disposed to hide it. It is particulary showed when he rudely once again reminded to Sherlock he was the "smart one", revealed he treated normal people as "goldfishs" compared to him to his superior intelligence, make a disgusted look and make a sarcastic remark about the daughter of John and Mary and refused to sit in his brother's flat during Eurus' return, claiming that he was not just a customer, which was all the more hypocritical on his part because he had actually sat in his apartment and asked for his help years ago, technically making him really a customer. Mycroft was also a talented liar, keeping secret about his sister Eurus to all and going so far to pretend she was dead all theses years and dont revealing to Sherlock about Morstan' past when he knew it.

Despite his more avenant look, Mycroft was ironically even more associal than his brother, who had least had several friends. This provoked a certain amount of mockery from Sherlock, who commented on how isolated he was. So he had no interest in friendship, and no interest in love either, carelessly rejecting an offer from Lady Smallwood to go for a drink. He was also known to hate weddings and Christmas.

Mycroft was also immoral and intrusive enough for praticing close surveillance toward his brother using governement ressources, going so far to personally talking to all people he frequented and testing their loyalties. Although he seemed to have stopped doing so, he apparently created a surveillance network especially for him after Morstan's death, which was partly justified by his younger brother's depression and past drug abuse.

Abilities[edit]

" I am the smart one.
— Mycroft to Sherlock [2]
"
  • Genius-level intelligence: Like his siblings, Mycroft possesse genius intellect. His tremendous intellectual prowess allowed him to becoming a very high-ranked, if not one of the highest ranked, britannic goverment agent and even its embomiment, true to Sherlock' words. His intellect even surpasse Sherlock's, as showed when he constantly bullied his younger brother by making him think he was a idiot and was able to make better deductions than him at occasion. [3][2] Even his sister Eurus, the greatest mind of the planet and far smarter than him, acknowledged his intelligence and deemed him as "quite clever" and able to understand many things if she went a bit slow. [4]
" If you’re so keen, why don’t you investigate it?
— Sherlock to Mycroft [3]
"
    • Master investigator: Mycroft was a tremendously skilled investigator, even more than than his worldwidly known private investigator younger brother Sherlock. He was able to correct Sherlock who believied John slept at Sarah' house on air mattress when it was on a sofa [3], instantly solve the case of a man killed by a boomerang with just a glance at the police report, [5] listing habits and personnality of a man better than Sherlock himself at a amical deductions contest, to his dismay, and resolve the case of the three Garrided in minuts alongside Sherlock. [2]
" What do you think of my solution?
— Mycroft to Sherlock
"
    • Master tactician: While not showed so often, Mycroft was a extremely skilled tactician. He was able to come up with a solution to prevent any victims of a terrorist attack by using corpses as decoys, failing only because of interference from Sherlock and deception of Irene Adler. [5] With Sherlock, he was able to set many plans to cover all eventualities before Sherlock meeting with Moriarty in the roof of Barts, even the one where Moriarty commits suicide. [6]
    • Master deceiver: While not showed often due to his dislike of, Mycroft was a talented deceiver. He was able to hide the survival of Eurus to all his family. He also unsuccessfully tried to trick Sherlock into killing him rather than John, in insulting him. [4]
" Sherlock: I didn’t know you spoke Serbian.
Mycroft: I didn’t, but the language has a Slavic root, frequent Turkish and German loan words. Took me a couple of hours.

— Mycroft and Sherlock [2]
"
    • Multilinguism: Mycroft spoke at least a little serbian, and it is implied he also knew turkish and german. [2]
  • Expert spy: Much like his brother, Mycroft was a highly skilled spy. He was able to introduce himself in the place where his brother was retained and tortured and exfiltrate him without anyone noticing him [2] as well infiltrating at Sherrinford island using disguise alongside Sherlock and John.
