The Sherlock Holmes movie series is a american cinematic duology/upcoming trilogy directed by american director Guy Ritchie. Ritchie's take on the iconic detective is known for its fast-paced action scenes, witty banter between Sherlock Holmes and the Dr. Watson, and stylish visuals. The films are set in a gritty, steampunk version of Victorian London and follow Holmes and Watson as they solve complex mysteries and battle their arch-nemesis, Professor Moriarty.
