Sherlock Holmes is a 2009 american movie. It was directed by Guy Ritchie and starred Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law as Dr. John Watson.

The movie takes place in 1891, where Sherlock Holmes and his loyal partner, Dr. Watson, investigate the mysterious activities of Lord Henry Blackwood (played by Mark Strong), a serial killer who has resurfaced after being sentenced to death. Blackwood claims to possess supernatural powers and intends to control all of England through his dark cult. As Holmes and Watson dig deeper into the case, they unravel a complex web of conspiracies, secret societies, and occult rituals. Along the way, they cross paths with Irene Adler (played by Rachel McAdams), a skilled criminal and Holmes' love interest.
