" You've already taken everything from me, in fact. My father never cared about me. Or my mother. I would have done anything for him to look at me. I waited like a dog for a caress, but I never got it. And then he died. When I saw you arrive in London... Illumination. He had another kid. From a woman he loved, no less.

Personnality[edit]

April Moriarty was a bitter and envious person, rendered unhappy and jealous by total lacks of love and indifference by her father, describing it as "waiting for a caress like a dog". Because of this, she was also revengeful, trapping Charlie by accusing her of shooting her grandfather. She is also implied she was suicidal, smiling when pushed of a cliff by Charlie. As expected for a Moriarty, she was highly intelligent, staging an elaborate deception to frame Charlie for shooting her grandfather, even going so far as to tap his phone.

Trivia[edit]

  • Despite her status as the main antagonist of the series, she appeared in only two episodes, only one of which as an antagonist.
  • April's plan to drive Charlie to suicide is similar to that of Jim Moriarty, the incarnation of Moriarty in the TV series Sherlock, although it's implicit that driving Charlie to suicide was just a bonus and that the main objective was to get her arrested.
  • Her fate is similar to that of the original James Moriarty, i.e. pushed off a precipice into the water by a Holmes.
