Andrew Scott (born 1976) is an Irish actor. He played Jim Moriarty is the BBC TV series Sherlock.

Biography

Andrew Scott was born on October 21, 1976, in Dublin, Ireland. He was raised in a Catholic family and has two sisters. Scott attended Gonzaga College, a Jesuit Catholic school in Dublin. His interest in acting developed early, and he later pursued his passion by studying drama at Trinity College Dublin.

Andrew Scott gained international recognition for his role as Jim Moriarty in the BBC series Sherlock, which premiered in 2010. His portrayal of the enigmatic and menacing Moriarty earned him widespread praise and several award nominations.
