The Spider Woman is a 1944 british film based on the detective character Sherlock Holmes created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It is the seventh installment in the Sherlock Holmes film series starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as his sidekick Dr. John H. Watson.
The movie follows Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson as they investigate a series of deaths seemingly caused by the "Pajama Suicides", where victims commit suicide under mysterious circumstances. Holmes discovers a common thread connecting the victims: they all received a spider as a gift shortly before their deaths. As the investigation progresses, Holmes becomes entangled with a woman named Adrea Spedding, who is suspected of being involved in the murders. Adrea is a seductive and cunning femme fatale, using her charm to manipulate men into committing crimes for her. Holmes must uncover her true motives and bring her to justice.
