Moriarty the Patriot (憂国のモリアーティ Yūkoku no Moriāti) is a Japanese manga series written by Ryosuke Takeuchi and illustrated by Hikaru Miyoshi. The series reimagines the classic Sherlock Holmes stories by focusing on the character of William James Moriarty, who is typically portrayed as Holmes' arch-nemesis in the original stories. In this adaptation, Moriarty is depicted as a vigilante seeking to bring justice to England by targeting corrupt members of the nobility and the aristocracy. Alongside his younger brothers, Albert and Louis, Moriarty orchestrates elaborate schemes to expose and take down those in power who abuse their positions for personal gain. The series delves into political intrigue, social issues, and moral dilemmas as Moriarty navigates the complex world of Victorian England.
