Eve Titus (born 1922, deceased 2002) was an American author known for her children's books, particularly her series featuring the character Basil of Baker Street. She began her writing career as a fashion model and writer for magazines. In the 1950s, Titus began writing children's books, with her most famous works being the Basil of Baker Street series. The series follows the adventures of a mouse detective named Basil who solves crimes in Victorian London, and was inspired by the character of Sherlock Holmes created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
