David Thewlis is a british actor. He played the Superintendent Grail in Enola Holmes 2, and will play Sherlock Holmes in the CW TV series Sherlock & Daughter.

He is the second Harry Potter actor who played the character of Sherlock Holmes, after Alan Rickman who portrayed him in 1976 in a play at Birmingham. They also both shared a scene in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in 2004.
