• He is the second Harry Potter actor who played the character of Sherlock Holmes, after Alan Rickman who portrayed him in 1976 in a play at Birmingham. They also both shared a scene in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in 2004.
  • In addition, he is one of the first actors to have shared a scene with another Sherlock Holmes interpreter in a completely separate franchise, followed by Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Downey Jr. in Avengers: Infinity War in 2018.
