Alan Rickman is a british actor. He played Sherlock Holmes in the 1976 play Sherlock Holmes played at Birmingham.

He is the first Harry Potter actor who played the character of Sherlock Holmes, followed by David Thewlis who will portray him in 2024 in the upcoming TV series Sherlock & Daughter. They also both shared a scene in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in 2004.
