The Sign of the Four is a novel written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and published in 1890.
The plot kicks off when Mary Morstan, a young woman, seeks Holmes's help after receiving a series of mysterious pearls and a letter related to her father's disappearance. The letter refers to a secret pact made by four convicts and hints at a treasure connected to this agreement.
