Sherlock in Russia (Ше́рлок в России Sherlok v Rossii), also known as Sherlock: The Russian Chronicles, is a Russian TV adaptation that takes the classic character of Sherlock Holmes and reimagines him within a distinctly Russian context. Unlike many adaptations that maintain the English setting of Arthur Conan Doyle's stories, this series places Holmes in 19th-century St. Petersburg, creating a unique fusion of Russian culture and the beloved detective's world. The series presents Sherlock Holmes as an Englishman who arrives in Russia on a personal quest. He is still the brilliant, eccentric detective fans recognize, but his adventures unfold against the backdrop of Russian society, political intrigue, and local customs.
