Sherlock Holmes in New York is a 1976 American movie. The plot of the film revolves around Sherlock Holmes' confrontation with his arch-nemesis, Professor Moriarty. Moriarty lures Holmes to New York with the promise of orchestrating his greatest crime yet. What follows is a game of cat and mouse, as Moriarty kidnaps Holmes' old flame, Irene Adler, and her young son, forcing Holmes to solve the crime and rescue them.

Set against the backdrop of turn-of-the-century New York, the film moves away from the foggy streets of London to explore a bustling, cosmopolitan city. The mystery involves a daring plot to rob the New York Federal Reserve, which Holmes must thwart while also navigating Moriarty’s psychological games.
