Sherlock Holmes is the main protagonist of the American film Young Sherlock Holmes, portrayed by British actor Nicholas Rowe. He is a aspiring young detective and student at Brompton Academy, as well the friend of John Watson and Elizabeth Hardy (as well the lover of the later) and the fencing student of Professor Rathe.

Sherlock Holmes is a highly analytical student with a knack for deductive reasoning. Despite his logical nature, he can be quite impulsive and emotional at time, as noted by his archenemy Rathe, and revengeful, like when he non-lethally poisoned a rival student.
Abilities
- Genius-level intelligence: Sherlock Holmes was a brilliant teen, especially talended in analysis and investigation. He also showed advanced learning ability and skill in chemistery and engineering.

- Master investigator: Sherlock Holmes, despite his young age, was a talented investigator with a sharp observation sense and a knack for deducive reasoning. During his first encounter with John Watson, he was able deduce a approximation of his first name, that one of his relatives was a doctor, that he came from north of England, and that he was friand of flan cakes. He was also able to win a challenge initiated by his rival Dudley in managing to track and find a trophy hidden in a freshly moulded vase based on traces of ceramic and paint in the kitchens. During a conversation with Lestrade, it was also revealed he was able to unmask the Ambassador of Belgium who embezzled 300,000 pounds from the Bank of England, altrought he was first suspicous for the Ambassador of France. More importantly, he was also able to uncover and foil the plot of his teacher, Professor Rathe, and his sister Mrs. Dribb.

- Expert fencer: Due to often practising with the professor Rathe, Sherlock Holmes showed to be a expert fencer, altrought the former repeadly admitted he was always blinded by his emotions before praising him for his skill. He showed to be able to hold his own against Rathe during their duel until the latter fall into icy water.

- Expert violonist: Sherlock showed decent skill in playing violin, especially impressive due to spending only three days in all practising it.
