- "First, the world will see you for what you are: a fraud. Then you'll be hanged - properly, this time."
– Sherlock Holmes to Lord Henry Blackwood
Sherlock Holmes is the eponymous main character of Sherlock Holmes american movie trilogy by director Guy Ritchie. He's an londonian consulant detective and the brother of Mycroft Holmes, also the best friend and flatmate of army doctor John Watson.
During his career, Sherlock Holmes came face to face with Lord Henry Blackwood, leading to his capture and presumed execution despite the latter's vague threats. However, Blackwood has apparently managed to come back to life, launching terrorist acts and murders across London in a bid for apparent world domination, apparently using powerful magic. In his fight against Blackwood, he also crossed paths with the seductive Irene Adler, who informed him of the existence of the criminal mastermind James Moriarty after Blackwood's defeat and death following the detective's exposure of all his scientific tricks. Shortly afterwards, Sherlock took up the fight against Moriarty, while having to deal with the criminal's threats against John Watson and his wife and the death of Irene Adler caused by Moriarty. The long duel culminated at the Reichenbach conference in Switzerland, where, already wounded by Moriarty's torture and having no choice but to protect John and his wife from Moriarty's fury after he had robbed him of almost his entire fortune, he chose to throw himself and Moriarty into the waterfalls surrounding the conference, surviving on a breathing apparatus and visiting John in his own apartment in total secrecy.
