The General Shan was the leader of the international gang of smugglers Black Lotus Gang.
Shan and his gang were at one time helped by criminal Jim Moriarty to establish themselves in London, using a chinese-themed circus as a cover for leaving China. However, she soon realised that one of her gang had stolen a jade bar, and so she commissioned Zhi "The Spider" Zhu in intend of punish the potential culprits, Eddie Van Coon and Brian Lukis. However, she was still unable to find her treasure, and was forced to use interference of detective consultant Sherlock Holmes in the hope that he will find the bar in their place. After mistakenly kidnapping his companion John Watson in his place with the intention of confiscating her clip, Shan was definitely thwarted by the detective but managed to escape. Thus, Shan was murdered by Moriarty for to guarantee his safety.
